After celebrating the new EAST in both Miami and Beijing, we brought the party to Hong Kong for our final launch event. In November 2024, a transformed EAST Hong Kong welcomed Alternative Thinkers from across the city to our neighbourhood of Taikoo to help celebrate the new EAST experience.

In November 2024, we threw a big party at EAST Hong Kong and invited the community to celebrate with us. Curated by Creative Directors and Coba Cheng & Matt Chung, the event invited guests to seek and cherish the figurative sweetness we find in our lives while honouring the historical sugar refinery that stood where EAST Hong Kong its today - and the namesake of our rooftop bar Sugar.

Beginning on the driveway leading to the lobby, we kicked off with the atmospheric sounds and voices of Earth music band I is One before Forrest Rain Oliveros emerged to take to the stage to share a dance with a fluorescent lion from Needless Crew.

Just as the typhoon warnings sounded and clouds began to gather, our undaunted community of Alternative Thinkers headed inside to fill the house at Domain, where local rapper Novel Fergus set the mood for guests to connect over original cocktails and small bites.

Throughout the night, we took guests upstairs to one of our suites where frequent collaborators jazz musician Jerold Chu and harmonicist CY Leo made the space theirs, riffing off each other for a surreal and intimate private performance.

Finally, we headed for the roof to Sugar where we waxed nostalgic as Beat Friday served remixed Cantopop hits to conclude (or for some, begin) this special night at A Different Place.
