The health and safety of our guests and team members are top priorities at EAST, Miami, and as the present health threat from Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve in South Florida, we are enhancing procedures on property to ensure that we are providing the safest environment possible. We remain vigilant, yet also calm. Cleanliness and good hygiene are always at the top of mind at EAST and this occasion is no exception.
Housekeeping and janitorial teams are prioritizing all public spaces by cleaning them frequently, especially items that we come in contact with often, such as restrooms, door handles, elevator panels, and the front desk, among other areas. There is additional thorough overnight cleaning and disinfecting of high traffic public spaces, and we have closed down non-essential areas of the hotel to reduce the spread of germs. Food handlers continue to exercise meticulous cleanliness in our bars and restaurants, and our rooftop bar, Sugar, is also offering food delivery services through UberEATS.
Internally, we are taking active measures in constant monitoring of this health crisis. For staff that is on property, team members are directed to wash hands often, cough or sneeze into their elbow or a tissue and throw it away, refrain from touching their face, stay three feet apart as often as possible, encouraging everyone to continue practicing exceptional hygiene, and if they are not feeling well to stay home. Remote capabilities have been set up for various departments to support social distancing recommendations by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Additionally, aside from the CDC, we are also closely monitoring all City of Miami mandated restrictions pertaining to maximum occupancy loads and closing hours. As developments and information change, we too will pivot and make the needed adjustments for the health and safety of our community.
We are currently in the wake of many unknowns and we will continue to follow government recommendations to ensure the safety of our team and our guests. We hope that we are able to collectively overcome COVID-19 soon.Covid-19 Protocols
