Every decision made at EAST works towards our 2030 Sustainability Goals of reducing water usage by 12%, electricity usage by 26%, and waste diversion by 28% in Hong Kong and 54% in the Chinese Mainland.

It's part of our commitment to serving our guests the highest-quality water possible and eliminating single-use plastics. And by doing this, we've further reduced our reliance on plastic by over 300,000 plastic bottles a year.

As part of Swire Properties' Green Kitchen initiative, EAST's kitchens reduce ecological impact by saving water in everything from water taps to dishwashers. Kitchen waste is sorted and churned by our ORCA technology to transform 270kg of food into an eco-friendly liquid that can safely drain through conventional plumbing.

In addition to joining both the WWF's Sustainable Seafood Business initiative and the Sustainable Restaurant Association network, we've partnered with the Million Tree Project by Shanghai Roots and Shoots to plant 1.67 hectares of trees in Inner Mongolia, China and we continue to monitor this effort every year.
