In partnership with Lever Foundation, we are bringing together three influential talents and leader together for some Sustainable Development Conversations, to connect and inspire each others' communities.

ABOUTOUR PARTNER

Lever Foundation is a global NGO operating across Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America. They work with leading companies in Hong Kong and across the region to help them upgrade their protein sourcing for a more humane, safe and sustainable supply chain, with a focus on cage-free eggs and alternative protein.

Our Speakers

In Sustainable Development Conversations led by Angela Wong from Lever Foundation, Anniqa Law from The Nature Conservancy and Mark Percy from EAST Hong Kong (member of Swire Properties' Male Allies), they are bringing inspirational insights to build a sustainable future.

ANGELA WONGLEVER FOUNDATION

Angela works as a Sustainability Program Manager for Lever Foundation to help leading corporations in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and the China Greater Bay Area to improve their ESG and sustainability policies, with a particular focus on cage-free eggs and other alternative protein related initiatives.  

ANNIQA LAWTHE NATURE CONSERVANCY

As Assistant Manager to Outreach of The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Anniqa is responsible for building awareness and inspiring conservation action within local communities, youth groups and volunteers.  She and her team pioneer shellfish restoration science to develop long-term solutions for conservation and sustainable development in Hong Kong.

MARK PERCYEAST HONG KONG

Mark is the Director of Restaurant & Bar/Executive Chef of EAST Hong Kong as well as a member of Swire Properties' Male Allies. He promotes, respects, embraces Diversity & Inclusion and is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. 

ONANIMAL WELFARE

“Let's rethink the way we treat these farm animals, whilst ensuring food sustainability.”

 

Angela Wong from Lever Foundation shared on how inhumanely caged hens are treated in battery cages and the benefits of using cage-free eggs. Angela also stressed that the cage-free egg market has started growing in Asia, including Hong Kong, China and Thailand.

ONOYSTER REEF RESTORATION

“Oyster reefs are the most endangered marine habitat in the world, but the awareness on it is extremely low.”

 

Anniqa Law from The Nature Conservancy shared the importance of oyster reefs to coastal protection & marine ecosystems as well as the difficulties in shell collection.

ONDIVERSITY & INCLUSION

“Sustainability is also about managing people's wellness and that's where Diversity and Inclusion comes in.”

 

According to findings from The Women’s Foundation 2019, 50% employers are not willing to hire women with children and only 13.9% of directors on HSI-listed companies in Hong Kong are women. As a member of Swire Properties’ Male Allies, Mark Percy, the Director of Restaurant & Bar/Executive Chef of EAST Hong Kong, emphasised the importance of do more action than just talking to narrow the gender gap.
