These works animate the lobby, ground floor and first floor, encouraging exploration and moments of discovery as guests move through the hotel.

ART IN THE LANDSCAPE
The exterior surroundings of EAST Hong Kong have been transformed into a large‑scale open‑air gallery through works by Sydney‑based artists George and Ilza Burchett. Four rock slopes in Hong Kong’s Island East district have been reimagined as monumental paintings, drawing upon the most ancient form of visual expression — rock art.
Centred on the universal themes of man and horse, the Burchetts’ works invite viewers to journey through the history of art, from prehistoric cave markings to modern interpretations. Set against the urban backdrop of Island East, the paintings create a dialogue between nature, time and contemporary life.
